I haven't had much time to get into the garden as I've been working dawn until dusk and been busy at weekends. Today however, I managed to get home in daylight and snatched half an hour to do some weeding. More sedges was removed and I weeded a vegetable plot, possibly an old asparagus bed. This yielded lots of deep rooted dandelions, from friable, rich, deep soil and bits of bittercress, grasses and brambles. I left a couple of flowering dandelions for the wildlife. At the end of the bed beneath the grass was another paving slab.
Once finished, I popped inside to make a coffee, and returned five minutes later to find that one of the local cats was exploring the newly cleared earth. Hmmmmm. He, a big ginger Tom, skedaddled as soon as he saw me. Hopefully he will take the hint!
My Mum has given me a 'paper potter', with which I can make small plant pots out of newspaper. Sowing season is coming!
